No Fear: Embracing the Journey of Horse & Mind Training

  At Clear Sky Retreat Center , the open grasslands and quiet forest set the stage for a unique kind of spiritual training — one where horses teach us how to train our own minds. Through natural horsemanship and equine-assisted learning , we learn to face fear, practice presence, and discover how our inner state shapes every connection we make, human and equine alike. When I first joined a session with Yvonne, the Natural Horsemanship trainer, I admitted that I had never really understood horses — and that I was afraid of them. My vulnerability was simply witnessed, not fixed or dismissed. That quiet acceptance revealed the first lesson: fear loses its power when it’s acknowledged with awareness. Under the guidance of Catherine Sensei and Qapel , I began to see how true training starts within. Catherine’s compassionate example reframed fear as a teacher, while Qapel’s words — “be willing to die, no matter what” — became a call to live with radical presence. Working closel...
