Money Without Tightness: Rediscovering Purpose Through Generosity
I used to think I had money all figured out. I had a high-paying job in finance, made strong cryptocurrency investments, and enjoyed long-term financial stability. But despite outward success, I felt an underlying tightness around money — fear of losing it, constant mental calculations, and a persistent drive to accumulate more.
Curious about this tension, I began money coaching with Karen McAllister. What I thought would be a practical tune-up became a deeper exploration of my money mindset.
I discovered how much fear, scarcity, and control I had internalized — beliefs shaped by culture, family, and a hyper-capitalist environment. I had unknowingly viewed work as drudgery, with early retirement as the only escape.
But true financial freedom, I learned, isn't just about numbers — it's about healing your relationship with money.
Through coaching, I began practicing generosity — not only with money, but with time, attention, and service. This softened my grip and created more ease and abundance in all areas of life.
Eventually, this clarity led me to a purpose-driven career path. I left the finance world to study Traditional Chinese Medicine, aligning my work with my values and desire to serve others.
This transformation wouldn’t have happened without addressing my inner relationship to money. If you feel stuck, even with financial success, the issue might not be your bank account — but your beliefs.
